FEATURES |
| |
Setting up the model: |
- |
Easy grid generation using a geometry editor. |
- |
Changes in the geometry of the grid may be easily achieved at any
time after creating the model. Add or delete rows and columns or move grid-lines to optimize grid spacing.
Data matrices are generated accordingly, parameter values are automatically copied to newly created cells. |
- |
Edit all parameters using three different modes: block-edit,
polygonal-edit or cell-edit.) |
- |
Control all graphical information of the model as well as the layers
of the background-maps. |
- |
Switch between plan views and cross-sectional views for 3D-problems. |
- |
Various interpolation tools allow you to interpolate whole
matrices, selected areas, or even single cells (useful for example for rivers or other linear boundary conditions). Four algorithms are currently available. |
- |
Copy data-matrices to other parameters (for instance bottom of layer
1 to top of layer 2 to guarantee consistent model geometry) |
- |
Every parameter matrix may be shown as colored solids. A dialog box allows you to change the range of values and the number of colors used. |
- |
Specify observation points not only for MT3D but also for MODFLOW and watch break-through-curves of concentration or graphs of head vs. time for transient problems in seperate diagram-windows. |
- |
Calculate differences between various data-matrices and show the results as a difference map (colored solids or isolines) |
- |
Support of all standard MODFLOW-modules. Additional and full support of the
Lake-Package (AVC), Horizontal-Flow-Barrier (HFB module) and Streamflow-Routing Package (SRP) and a new algorithm for contaminant transport simulation (with MT3D): Front
Limitation. |
Running the simulation: |
- |
All MODFLOW, MODPATH and MT3D files are automatically generated and managed. |
- |
Different versions of package files (let one file contain no wells and a second a set of
remediation wells) may be loaded in data structure dialog boxes for each simulation program. |
- |
Consistency checks of the modeling data are performed prior to calculations. |
- |
MODFLOW, MODPATH and MT3D are run within CADSHELL. Results are immediately
displayed and automatically updated. |
- |
The interactive part of MODPATH ist replaced by editing the relevant data in
a special control dialog before running MODPATH. This allows precise and easy graphical placing of particles for MODPATH-calculations. |
During modeling work: |
- |
Calculated water levels or concentrations may be shown as contour lines. |
- |
MODPATH results can be shown as pathlines (with optional time markers), timeseries and recharge or discharge areas (colored symbols). |
- |
Inspector-function allows you to view all parameters for an individual cell. Just click on an point of interest and a box
opens which shows all relevant values. |
- |
Time-variant boundary conditions and observation points may be displayed as icons. |
- |
Unlimited zoom or pan of your model. |
- |
The trial-and-error process of model calibration is supported by numerical and
graphical tools as scatter-plot-diagram |
- |
Full numerical and graphical support for the calculation of volumetric budgets |
Including printed manuals, full support, and free upgrades in the first six months after the purchase of the program.
